The Alternatives list is sorted based on formulary preferences for the selected payor. Medications in the green zone are listed first, followed by yellow and then by red. Within each zone, the medications are sorted by their average wholesale price. The exception to this rule is a medication that is low cost, but is not covered by the payor. Medications that fall into this category are presented at the end of the list.
