Adding a Patient Reminder Template

Note: Patient Reminder templates are different than other Custom Templates. They cannot be used with the Notes, Results Manager, or Family/Social History module. They are used in conjunction with the Reminders tab in My Patient Lists module. For additional information, see Working with Patient Reminders.

1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Templates module.

2.   Click the at the Add New... field and click Patient Reminder. The LMR displays a text block for entry of template text.

3.   Click the text block and type the body of your letter template.

4.   To load a patient's reminders into the letter, type two periods and the letter "r" (..r). A pop-up box displays. Click to select the Pt Reminders macro. The macro name displays at the insertion point in your template.

5.   Use additional system macros and custom paragraphs, if desired.

6.   To apply special formatting (such as bold or italic text) or check spelling, click the appropriate button. You must first select text when formatting existing text.

7.   If appropriate, update options for I or O (inpatient or outpatient) to reflect the type of template.

8.   Type or select a category, type, and subject for your new template. The subject is the name that is assigned to a new note when you create one from this template.

9.   Click Save.

10. Type or select a Template Name. Then, click to select Practice to make it available to others within your practice.

11. Click Save.
