Accessing the Lab Specimen Detail Display

The lab specimen detail includes the patient name and date of birth (DOB), collection and ordering information, and lab information, along with all tests ordered for the specimen, and results, reference ranges, units, and the date and time of completion. The detail also includes a key for interpreting flags, and functions to preview and print the information.

In general, to display the lab specimen detail:

• Click the index item for a specimen in any view
• Click the result for any test on a specimen, from any table of specimens and their tests

To access the Lab Specimen Detail Display from each of the views listed below:  

• Labs (Panels)

Find and click the panel name in the tree structure on the left. Click a test result value to display the Lab Specimen Detail.

• Big Board

Click the in the data grid. Click the link in the index on the left. The detail pane on the right displays the Lab Specimen Detail (if applicable).

• Summary

Click the link in the index on the left. The Lab Specimen Detail (if applicable) appears in the pane on the right.
