If you haven't already:
Click Special Orders (ALT+O).
Click Re-Write Orders (ALT+R).
Read the warning that rewrite inactivates all current active orders.
To continue rewriting the patient's orders, click Yes (ALT+Y).
To return to the UCM without rewriting orders, click No (ALT+N), then click Back to UCM Options (ALT+B).
Review the Current Active Orders:
If the patient has no active orders, this step is skipped.
For each item on the list, click the corresponding checkbox to indicate whether to Continue or Inactivate the order.
Click OK (ALT+O).
Complete the rewrite:
Continued orders are displayed in the session scratch pad.
Except for chemo and TPN, current orders that are not listed will be inactivated automatically when the rewrite session is signed.
Chemotherapy and chemotherapy-related orders are carried forward automatically when rewrite orders are activated.
Active orders for total/peripheral parenteral nutrition (TPN/PPN) are also continued automatically.
