Each topic of this comprehensive course is presented in a task-oriented module: the object is to show you how to get the job done, using Provider Order Entry at MGH. The scenarios presented are realistic without being distractingly complicated. Modules have three sections each:
Overviews—concepts and practices that answer the questions of “Who, What, Where, and When? "
Demonstrations—self-paced simulations that explain "How? " in detail
Practices—do-it-yourself with step-by-step instructions, hints if you make a mistake, and a demonstration if you get stuck
You can return to the menu at any time to pick a section, or follow the flow through each section, from module to module. You can quit or repeat any module at any time.
As you complete a section, your progress is tracked, so you can take the training piecemeal; when you log back in, you can see what you've done and what you still need to go through. The course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone with access to the Partners network, and from the Internet when you’re off-site.
