Confirm a dose, research a symptom, access education materials for your patient, or change your diagnostic or therapeutic plan without having to jump in and out of applications to get information relevant to the situation at hand. With KnowledgeLink the right resources are only a click away.
When calling KnowledgeLink 
from Provider Order Entry, some of the search parameters are preset. If you click the icon with a medication selected, for example, the search returns pharmaceutical information on the selected med from Thomson Micromedex. From the results, you can search other sources, change the context—meds, labs, or disease—or start a new search using an entirely different word or phrase. In addition, you can set the search to find educational information for the patient.
The KnowledgeLink button in the CAS toolbar (on the left) opens the main search page in a separate window, with no preset criteria. You must enter the word or phrase to look up, set the context, and select whether to include patient information in the results.
