The change orders generated by edits to active chemotherapy orders must be activated by a nurse. Check the activation date for your change order, and update if necessary to be sure that the order will be activated and carried out when you intend.
Access the orders:
For active orders, click Write > Chemo to open the Chemo Orders scratch pad.
For inactive pre-admission or NICO orders, click Chemo Options (ALT+H). If prompted, select Pre-Admit or NICO Session as applicable. Click to select the chemo order session from the list, then click Edit. Orders are listed in the main scratch pad; click Chemo.
To change the schedule while writing chemo orders, click the applicable order in the Chemo folder. See Writing Chemo Orders From a Regimen.
Click to select the order to be edited.
Click the Schedule tab.
Click Sched days/doses.
Click the Days (ALT+Y) option.
Click the Days field, and type the new schedule. There are limits to the changes allowed. Type days before the date defined as Day 0 or Day 1 as negative numbers—that is, day -4 is four days before day 1. Type a continuous period of days as the first and last separated with a colon (:), for example, days 1 through 5 inclusive is entered as 1:5.
Click OK.
If you decrease the number of scheduled days, type the reason when prompted.
Click OK (ALT+ O ).
For edits to active orders or orders awaiting activation, click Close (ALT+C) to display orders for this session.
