Discharge orders must be signed as saved under several conditions:
When clinicians complete discharge instructions (PT, OT, Speech Language Pathology, Social Services, etc.)
Before printing forms when changes have been made to discharge
After adding a new discharge medication
Before printing a new or edited prescription for medication
Before switching to the PAML builder (pre-admission medication list) or PDML (patient discharge medication list) when changes have been made to discharge
When an RN prints any of the following forms, signing at this prompt checks that all required information is completed, and saves the discharge orders and instructions as final:
PDML
Post Hospital Care Plan
Nursing D/C Note
Face Sheet
Patient Care Referral Form
