Time-critical: Any medication ordered to be given more frequently than every 4 hours
For time-critical medications, the window of acceptable administration is one (1) hour. The medication moves to the Due section of the eMAR To Do List 30 minutes before its scheduled administration time. If not given by 30 minutes after that scheduled administration time, it moves to the Overdue section.
Meds that are given less frequently have a window of two (2) hours. The medication moves to the Due section of the eMAR To Do List 60 minutes before its scheduled administration time. If not given by 60 minutes after that scheduled administration time, it moves to the Overdue section.
