Non-chemo:
Adult = Patients who had passed their nineteenth (19th) birthdays on admission
Pediatric = Patients who were 28 days or older who had NOT passed their nineteenth (19th) birthdays on admission; this includes admission on the date of birth
Neonate = Patients who were less than 28 days old on admission
Chemo:
Adult = Patients who had passed their sixteenth (16th) birthday on the visit or admission date
Pediatric = Patients who had NOT passed their sixteenth (16th) birthday on the visit or admission date; this includes admission on the date of birth
Age group affects these orders:
Chemotherapy—Regimens and protocols are available only to chemotherapy MDs, NPs, and PAs. Only providers with pediatric chemo authorization can order from treatments defined as pediatric. The availability of pediatric regimens and protocols is not dependent on the age of the patient. Orders available from pediatric regimens and protocols (see following order types) may be based on adult or pediatric options, as required by the standard for the treatment.
General Care—Type of order and/or parameters for orders
IV Fluids—weight-based rate of infusion for pediatric and neonatal patients
Medications—weight-based dosing and age-related fixed dosing for pediatric and neonatal patients
Respiratory—Type of order and/or parameters for orders
Vitals—Type of order and/or parameters for orders
