Keyboard shortcuts: Copy = Ctrl+C, Paste = Ctrl+V—C for copy, V next to C on the keyboard, pointing out "put it here".
What you can copy—Practically any text you can display on screen (but not a picture of the words) can be copied, even if you can't change the displayed text or find a copy/paste button or menu option. Generally speaking, if you can select the text, you can copy. Partners applications such as the CAS and web versions of the LMR and Results Viewer also provide copying using a Copy button on the display.
To begin, find the text to copy by opening the application or document it's in—for example, the LMR, or a file such as a document in Word.
To switch between the destination and the source of the text to copy:
If the source or destination is in the CAS (LMR, Results, Orders), click the appropriate button on the application bar (left side of the CAS).
If the source is not in the CAS (webLMR, webResults, or a document), click the appropriate icon at the button of the screen, to the right of the ÿ Start button. To return to CAS, click the CAS icon.
To copy and paste text:
On the source window, select the text you want to copy. Using the Copy button in a Results Viewer or LMR display may not require or allow text selection. If you copy more than you want, you can always delete unneeded information.
Copy the selection using one of the following methods:
If the application has a Copy button, click it.
If the application has an Edit menu, click Edit>Copy.
Right-click. On the menu that pops up under the pointer, click Copy.
Press Ctrl+C.
If you are in the CAS (LMR, Results, Orders), click the destination application button on the left. Otherwise, click the CAS icon at the bottom of the screen.
Click the text field where you want the text to go. Paste the selection using one of the following methods:
Press Ctrl+V.
Right-click the text field. On the menu that pops up under the pointer, click Paste.
If the application has a Paste button, click it.
If the application has an Edit menu, click Edit>Paste.
