Once you complete the Laboratory Order Processing form and click OK, Order Entry checks the selected labs against active orders for the patient. If any of the tests and times you selected is the same as that in another active order, the Laboratory Duplication Alert window.
More than one lab order may be a duplicate—all are listed in the Drug Warnings window. Account for every order on the list. When you click Keep Order(s), any order that has not been discontinued is added to the Laboratory Orders scratch pad, so first discontinue the orders to be stopped, one at a time.
To erase a new lab order, select it and click Cancel (d/c) order (ALT+C).
To ignore the warning and order the duplicate lab (which should be avoided), click Keep all (ALT+K).
When all of the duplicates are accounted for, the warning window closes automatically.
