This report utility is restricted to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified nurse midwives.
The prescription ID is a unique number assigned to every discharge order when a prescription for medication is printed. The number is included in the detail (zoom) view of the order as well as the printed prescription. On the printout the ID is labeled Rx Ref. No. See Printing Discharge Prescriptions for more information.
This report includes patient information, medication order information, the name of the provider who first wrote the prescription, and the date and time the prescription was originally written.
If you haven't already:
Click Tools (ALT+L) on the main order entry window.
Click Reports (ALT+S).
Click Prescription Verification (ALT+V).
To generate the report:
Type the patient's medical record number (MRN), or
the medication prescription identification number, or both.
Prescriptions for medications from MGH Provider Order Entry are prefixed
with the letter "P". This is already entered for you.
Click Run Results (ALT+R). This will clear any previous results before generating another report.
To display details of a medication prescription:
Click to select its line.
Click Rx Zoom (ALT+R).
Click Close (ALT+C) to return to the report.
To print or save the report:
To send the results to a spreadsheet, formatted as displayed, click Import to Excel (ALT+I).
To send the results to a tab delimited .txt file, click Import to Text File (ALT+T).
Print and save from Excel or Notepad.
Return to the UCM:
Click Exit (ALT+E) to close the report.
Click Back to UCM Options (ALT+B) to return to the Tools options.
Click Exit to UCM Options (ALT+X) to return to the UCM.
