Calling Up Orders
If you haven't already, click Tools (ALT+L) on the main order entry window.
Click Department Reprint/Queue (ALT+Q).
Click Consult Orders.
Select Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology from the Queue drop-down list.
To limit the display to orders from a particular unit, select from the Floor drop-down list.
To have the list sorted by the patients' current location, select this option from the Display By drop-down list. The default sort is by the location of each patient at the time the order was written.
Click Load (ALT+L).
To erase the list, click Clear (ALT+C).
To add patients from another floor to the list, select from the Floor drop-down list, then click Load (ALT+L).
Confirming and Unconfirming Orders
Select one or more lines to highlight the orders.
To change an order from no confirmation status to confirmed, confirmed to unconfirmed, or unconfirmed to confirmed, click Confirm/Unconfirm.
When prompted, type your signing key, then click OK.
There is no confirmation status for new consult orders. When you are assigned a patient, confirm the order. Unconfirm any order that you confirm by mistake. To view the confirmation history of an order, look at the order details.
The confirmation status is displayed in the Conf column. C=confirmed, U=unconfirmed.
Printing One or More Orders
Select one or more lines to highlight the orders to be printed.
Click Print (ALT+P).
Looking Up the Patient's Location
Click to select the order for the patient you want to locate.
Click Current Location (ALT+A).
The location is updated to display the PCIS record. This information is not saved. If you reload the list, the Order Entry location will be displayed again.
Returning to the UCM
Click Exit (ALT+E).
Click Exit to UCM (ALT+X).
