What's New with MGH Order Entry?

July 11, 2012

Concurrent Ordering Alert—To avoid duplicate or cross-purpose ordering, providers are notified when another provider is already entering orders for the selected patient. This alert is triggered when a provider starts a session of routine (via Write), transfer, post-op surgeon, or post-op anesthesia orders, and another provider is currently writing any of these types of orders for the patient. For transfer, post-op surgeon, or post-op anesthesia, starting a new session or editing an existing session both trigger the alert.
