Setting Preferences on the Home Page
User preferences allow you to set the default behavior for many of the views in the PHS Viewer. The settings also apply to the Results Web application, unless otherwise noted. Preferences include which page opens first when you start the viewer, as well as defaults for lab panels, layouts, and date ranges.
- If you haven't already, click the Home option on the PHS Viewer menu.
- Set preferences for the different views as described:
- PHS Viewer Initial Page: The system default for the PHS Viewer is to open to the Big Board Summary View. To set the start-up view to your personal preference, select from the drop-down list.
- Default Panel: The system default is for Full System Panels to display on the Labs view. To change this, select a from the drop-down list.
- Labs Page:
- When Auto-submit on page load is checked (the system default) and you open the Labs page, the system loads the selected patient's results automatically (you do not need to click the Submit button). Uncheck to require that you click the Submit button to load patient data.
- When Show Empty Panels and Subpanels is checked (the system default), the Index lists all panels and sub-panels, whether or not the panels have results. Uncheck to hide empty panels and sub-panels.
- Big Board: The system default for Big Board Notes is to display in the Notes Viewer (Filter/Sort View). To revert to the view that was used before November 2015, select Basic View from the drop-down list.
- View Summary Index specifies the location of the index of reports. Select an option from the drop-down list: Top = above the detail pane (the system default),Left = left of the detail pane, or Top:Filter/Sort = above the detail pane with the ability to filter and sort index items.
- When Auto-submit on page load is checked (the system default) and you open the Summary page, the system loads the selected patient's results automatically (you do not need to click the Submit button). Uncheck to require that you click the Submit button to load patient data.
- Click the Save Changes button.
